Inspired by research from Vaki and Strawberry Singh, the VBCO cast created “average avatars,” that is, hybrids combining the many unique aspects of each individual cast member with the average female height, the average male weight, and so on. We became the same, yet remained different. We discovered our individuality through an exploration of our commonality. I created a Bouguereau Birth of Venus pose for the women, and a Michaelangelo David pose for the men.
