I’ll be leading the Building Cheer Community workshop at Cheerfest ’26 on Saturday, August 8 at 11am SLT!
Let’s raise awareness of cheer as both a sport AND a community!

Building Cheer Community
We come to cheerleading in Second Life for different reasons: to make new friends, for RP, for cartwheels and giant pyramids, and so much more. Cheerleading can be acrobatic and technical, but it is also a social experience getting to know your squad and building community with them.
In this Building Cheer Community workshop we’ll break into small groups and think through why we joined a squad and how to make it as rich and sororal an experience as possible. In one part each cheerleader will be in a group with their own squad members, and in another we’ll form groups mixing the squads and learning from each other.
I’ll try to keep the presenting as brief as possible and focus more on interacting in small groups and then sharing ideas with the entire group. We’ll discuss a topic in groups, then regathering & share, then move on to another small group project.
